This exceptional tract is located in South Crenshaw County on Highway 29 about 15 miles north of Andalusia and 6 miles southwest of Brantley near the Dozier Community.

 

The property has a good mixture of large open fields, some of which have been planted in peanuts in the past, and is surrounded by natural pine and hardwood timber, with other areas in pine plantation 18 – 20 years old, and approximately 26 acres in the CRP program in longleaf pines 3 years old.

 

The property has excellent access by way of two county roads and an old abandoned railroad bed that runs from one end of the tract to the other end.

 

Crooked Run Creek winds through the property for almost three quarters of a mile providing a good water source and habitat for the abundant wildlife in the area.  There are large green fields scattered around the property and deer and turkey signs are plentiful.  There are also several coveys of quail frequently seen on the tract.

The most outstanding feature of the whole tract is the gorgeous 20 acre lake located not far from the camphouse.  The lake is stocked with Coppernose Bluegill and Shellcraker Bream, Largemouth Bass, and all kinds of ducks and geese frequently fly in and out of the lake.

 

There is a nice camphouse located along Highway 29 that has recently been completely renovated.  The camphouse has hardwood floors and pineboard paneling.  There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, one which has been recently added with ceramic tile and a granit vanity top, and a large kitchen and den area with a working fireplace.

Located across Highway 29 from the camphouse is an additional 110 acres.  This part has over one half mile of frontage on Highway 29 with water and power along the road.  There are two nice open fields along the highway that would make ideal homesites.  The balance of the property also has areas of planted pines 18 to 20 years old, and good areas of natural hardwood and pine timber.  There are several large game plots, a beautiful lake stocked with bass and bream, and frontage on Crooked Run Creek for one fourth mile.

 

There are also several equipment sheds for storage located across the highway from the camphouse.  This acreage makes a nice addition to the large tract.
